A group of journalism students from the School of Broadcasting at Ara Institute (formerly CPIT)

On Wednesday evening a group of journalism students from the School of Broadcasting at Ara Institute (formerly CPIT) came to Masjid AnNur for iftar. They had recently attended a workshop on Islam facilitated by volunteers from CMCT and Muslim Youth of Canterbury so this was a great opportunity for them to meet local Muslims and experience some aspects of Islam first hand.

Special guests also included Deborah Lam from the Office of Ethnic Communities and Constable Phil Goto from NZ Police.

Imam Gamal gave a short presentation on Islam and Ramadan, before the youth volunteers paired up with the students to answer any questions they had and to guide them through the iftar.

Special thanks to everyone who helped make the visit such a success, especially the MAC committee, Imam Gamal, Sister Gulshan and all the CMCT and MYC helpers. Jazakum Allah Khair.
